Description:

Carroll University seeks an Assistant Professor of Pathologists' Assistant Studies for its innovative Master of Science in Pathologists' Assistant Studies program. This is a full-time 12-month position.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and program service. Teaching load will be appropriate for the individual's area of content expertise and the needs of the Program. The position will also include assisting the Program Director with didactic year curriculum implementation and assessment, and curricular mapping. Opportunities for grant development and involvement in local and international service-learning initiatives are available.

Qualifications: Carroll University (www.carrollu.edu) invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of the Master of Science in Pathologists' Assistant Studies Program. Candidates will:

Be an ASCP certified pathologists' assistant - preferred
Hold a terminal degree in pathologists' assistant studies awarded by a NAACLS accredited program or other relevant academic or clinical degree (i.e., PhD, MD, PA-C)
Possess a minimum of 5 years of teaching or clinical experience
Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Proficiency with on-line student tracking systems and test question data banks is desired

Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.

Rank and Salary:

This is an instructional faculty tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The Program:

he Master of Science in Pathologists' Assistant Studies (MSPAS) program is housed within the College of Health Sciences. It is closely affiliated with the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Master of Occupational Therapy, and undergraduate programs in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education, Public Health, and Nursing. The program has a strong commitment to inter-disciplinary team building and faculty may include PA-Cs, PhDs, and MDs. The program is housed in the newly renovated Rankin Hall and the recently built Michael and Mary Jaharis Science Laboratories teaching and research facility. These facilities house comprehensive teaching and laboratory space specifically designed for the MSPAS program. A robust service-learning program exists within the MSPAS program and other health sciences programs to serve the healthy, diseased, disabled, and underserved within the local and international community. Opportunities also exist for continued clinical practice.

The College:

The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through eight departments-Public Health, Athletic Training, Physician Assistant Studies, Occupational Therapy, Human Movement Sciences (sports physiology, exercise science, exercise physiology, physical education, and sports administration); Nursing; and Physical Therapy. Health sciences account for ~60% of the University enrollment. The mission of the College of Health Science is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these as well as program specific initiatives.
