Job Summary: Recruiting an Instructional Designer (ID)/Curriculum Coordinator to provide expertise and knowledge on various pedagogical approaches and best practices to support the online and hybrid course delivery in the College of Nursing.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 6: $41,778.00 - $59,538.50 - $77,299.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties:

25% - Works collaboratively with College of Nursing subject matter experts to develop and guide instructional design projects both in the classroom and virtually. This includes applying instructional design principles and quality assessment techniques to create pedagogically sound learning interactions through evaluation and application of educational theory, assessment techniques, course development and integration of instructional technologies for diverse learners. - (Essential)
20% - Works collaboratively with College of Nursing subject matter experts to manage digital accessibility initiatives that adhere to universally accepted guidelines. This includes providing support and training to both faculty and staff, researching and evaluating emerging educational software that supports teaching and learning with an emphasis on accessibility, conducting audits of the College of Nursing's academic web presence, provide curriculum mapping and data analytics to improve the aligning of content, skills, and assessment, and drafting appropriate guidelines relating to digital accessibility. - (Essential)
15% - Provides leadership and coordination of implementation and ongoing education of the University's instructional technology systems to deliver these resources to the College of Nursing in an effective and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to training, resource creation, trouble-shooting support, administration, establishing processes and guidelines, and consulting on use. - (Essential)
15% - Designs and teaches faculty professional development online courses covering best practices in teaching online, instructional design, and digital accessibility. In addition, works collaboratively with academic teams in the support of teaching within college specific credit bearing courses. - (Essential)
10% - Provides expertise to faculty on evaluating and providing feedback relating to online courses through the Learning Management System. This includes recommending best practices, instructional strategies, and application of quality assurance guidelines for online learning and instruction. - (Essential)
10% - Assist in the direct integration of technology into the course curricula, extra-curricular, and co-curricular learning of College of Nursing. Assist in uploading and formatting educational material within the learning Management System (Brightspace). - (Essential)
5% - Other Duties as assigned - Serve as back-up to the Nursing Technology Center when necessary. Represent the College of Nursing on University Committees as appropriate. - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: Formal training and proven work experience in instructional design and working with educational technology is preferred (i.e. D2L Brightspace, Panopto, ExamSoft). Experience that demonstrates knowledge of legislative and industry-based standards such as the W3C/Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Ability to independently plan and manage instructional design projects.

Ability to apply educational theory and skills in online and face to face teaching environments.

Flexibility-ability to adjust modality and identify technological tools and supportive applications based on audience or program.

Ability to effectively use interpersonal and communications skills for various audiences.

Ability to effectively use organizational and planning skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to include proofreading with a detailed eye and low tolerance for grammatical errors.

Employee must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently. This is highly visible, independent position within the College of Nursing and must have the ability to communicate effectively and timely with all faculty, students, and staff.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A master's degree in Education, Instructional/Educational Technology, Learning Science or another directly related field, and 2-years' of professional experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and accessibility best practices.
