Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director Instructional Design and the AVP of AU Online, The Instructional Technology Coordinator (ITC) will work directly with the Division of Information Technology to coordinate the IT and Technology needs of AU Online. The ITC will be the primary point of contact for the AU Online learner incident response system.
The ITC will support AU Online, Faculty, Staff, and Student needs primarily within the Learning Management System (LMS) for both problem solving and training purposes. The ITC will support existing technology and will play a large role in determining new external technologies and tools as well as those within the LMS. Given the wide range of technology applications used by the AU Online Platform, the ITC, in collaboration with IT, will be involved with the management and integration of additional technologies that work with the LMS or feed into the AU Online Platform, including but not limited to, Banner, EAB Navigate, Pathify, and other current and future systems and tools needed to support the AU Online Platform. The ITC, in collaboration with IT, will ensure data security and integrity for students, faculty and staff operating within the AU Online Platform.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
RECORD MANAGEMENT:
Providing reports from the LMS and any associated software. Monitoring and analyzing usage data to identify trends and making recommendations for improvements.
Ensuring data security and privacy compliance in accordance with relevant regulations.
Monitoring systems performance
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND COLLABORATION:
Identifying and recommending technology opportunities, trends, and strategies to improve the learning experience for AU Online students and faculty to enhance persistence rates.
Researching, evaluating, and recommending both new and existing educational software applications and tools.
Developing strategies for the effective use of technology in online teaching and learning
Developing and maintaining user guides, a training library, FAQs, and other resources to aid in the effective use of educational technology.
Staying informed about emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in educational technology.
Recommending and piloting innovative projects that leverage cutting-edge technology for educational purposes.
In some instances, supporting vendor management.
TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT/SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT:
Providing AU Online with LMS (D2L) course administration support.
Providing LMS (D2L) and associated software support for students, faculty, and staff.
Resolving technology related incidents.
Using course authoring tools to create learning objects that provides customized training and documentation for students and faculty.
Preparing AU Online courses for delivery and making any needed emergency adjustments throughout the semester.
Communicating with constituents on any need changes to the LMS, any related technology and course content.
Leading the AU Online ticketing system.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Instructional/Educational Technology with one year of experience in Information Technology or related field.
Required Experience
Experience in a higher education environment, and teaching and/or training experience
Experience supporting academic technologies in an educational setting
Experience evaluating, implementing, and maintaining software
Wor1d<1g knowledge of D2L
Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and accessibility
Experience in training/teaching others on technology topics
Ability to interpret and respond to user problems through a helpdesk
Experience utilizing software that creates repor1s from systems
Experience with troubleshooting software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting an LMS and related technology for an online program.
Prior teaching or training experience
Working knowledge of ECHO 360, Turnitin, VoiceThread and Hypothesis
Working knowledge of EAB Navigate, Banner, or Pathify
Understanding of FERPA and data privacy issues
Knowledge of documentation needs and techniques
Knowledge of data analysis techniques
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B10
Salary: Minimum $52,500/annual Midpoint: $65,600/annual
Salary to be commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
