Job Description Summary
The Executive Master's Degree in Global University Management is a new online degree program serving working professionals in higher education. Our program addresses practice-based and theoretical problems in university settings around the world serving a highly diverse cohort of students in an online environment. This program is the first at Penn designed afresh for an international audience.

Job Description

The Associate Director/Instructional Lead is responsible for the following:
  • Teaches in the online program, the equivalent of one course.
  • Serves as the instructional continuity for students in the online program, serving as point of contact as students progress through the synchronous and asynchronous learning activities of various modules.
  • Monitor student progress for learning and on module learning activities.
  • Provide feedback and grade student work based on faculty-provided templates and rubrics.
  • Work with program director and program faculty to ensure and assess quality; ensure compliance with accreditation guidelines for online programs, trouble shoot; liaise with instructional designers.
  • Participate in community building activities, including orientation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A master's degree and 3-5 years of full-time experience in higher education management is required.
  • Expert knowledge of higher education management and its related areas is essential given the instructional responsibilities for this position.
  • Experience with online learning is important as well.
  • Ability to liaise with faculty and higher education experts, and the ability to work well with students.
  • A proven track record as contributor, collaborator and self-starter.
  • A history of working effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in an international context and the ability to work independently on fast-track projects.
  • Having an entrepreneurial mindset and start-up mentality is critical. That said, this is a teaching and student engagement first position.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate, or other terminal degree, and 5-7 years of experience is preferred.
  • Experience with international education a plus.
  • Expertise working with Canvas, Zoom, online learning platforms and student databases, and an open willingness to learn and develop new technological skills are highly desired.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
